Five Steps to Successful Information Product Creation

Information product creation and marketing is one of the most lucrative business models on the internet today. It is easy to get started in, can be accomplished in a short period of time and can provide you with long term residual income.

This method of making money online is both popular and profitable. Many people who used to hold on to regular jobs while dabbling in internet marketing to earn extra income have long since quit their day jobs and enjoyed the benefits of earning online through info product marketing. But how does one create information products?

Here are 5 simple and easy to follow steps in product creation.

Step 1 - Niche Identification

In this first step, you browse around the internet looking for opportunities. The goal is to find out what people are talking about and see if in their discussions there arise any problems or questions which need some sort of solution.

Think about a topic you are interested in or may have some knowledge about.

Then go to forums that are related to these topics and dig down by searching for certain keywords related to the topic. You can also go to Yahoo Answers and do a search for keywords related to the topic and see what sort of questions or help Yahoo Answers users have been posting about.

Step 2 - Market Research

In this next step, the goal is to see if people are spending money on information products in this niche.

Take those same keywords you were searching for in the previous step and go to Google and do a search for those keywords. Take note of which keywords had plenty of AdWords ads on the upper portion and right portion of the search results page. A keyword which has at least 10 or more ads is a good sign, if people are advertising on the keyword, then there must be money to be made from that keyword. However, you should also check each of those ads to see what is being advertised. If there are no information products being advertised, that can be both a good and bad sign, and you can find the answer to this in the next step. If however there are other info products advertised, then this is a good sign that this is indeed a profitable niche. Also note what kind of products these are; whether they are free reports, ebooks, audio or video.

Step 3 - Direct Survey

This is a step where a lot of information products go wrong because the product creators are quick to make conclusions based on favorable results of the previous two steps.

Take research a step further by actually creating a survey and driving AdWords traffic to a survey page. Be sure to use the keywords that you used in the previous steps, as this will also give you an idea which keywords your potential customers will be most receptive to when you promote your information product later on.

This step is to further support the results of your previous steps. In the survey you can ask your respondents specific questions that relate to their problems or questions about a certain topics, what format they are most receptive to (ebooks, audio, video, etc), and other telling questions that will help you structure your information product.

Step 4 - Product Creation

This is the step where you put together your information product to meet the needs of the persons you have surveyed. You can put together this product yourself if you have personal knowledge about it, or you can simply have it outsourced by people who are experts in this field in places like guru.com, Elance or other sites where you can find experts on the field that you can tap to produce your product with your own input based on what you have found in your research.

Step 5 - Making it Available

Now that your info product is ready, you have to put the product on the rack for buyers to see it. What this means is, you have to put the product on a website created specifically for this purpose. With a good amount of promotion and advertising, you will be on your way to earning a decent passive income from your information product.

How To Leverage Web 2.0 To Get Top Rankings

By Brian Armstrong

Search engine strategies and getting traffic to your website can greatly be enhanced by using websites like socialmarker.com. This is a website that will save you a lot of time on getting links back to your website. These links help getting traffic as well as will help you get search engine rankings.

The first thing to do is to compose your article, your blog post, or your web page. You can use any number of free websites to create your content. This is the first thing that needs to happen before you'll get the benefits of social networking for your site specifically. You can always start with other people's websites or web pages, but typically you'll get the most benefit by doing some of both.

There's a site you can use called socialmarker.com which will help you get started with social bookmarking. What this site does is allow you to quickly bookmark one article or blog entry on multiple sites. It frames each of the "add bookmark" pages then allows you to click and drag the same description, URL, and tags into each of the bookmarking sites. The first time you go to this site, if you haven't already, you'll need to add new accounts for the bookmarking sites you'd like to use.

The title should have your main keyword phrase and the title of your blog post or article. These may match some of the time, or most of the time, but when you don't have the keyword, add it unless it makes the keyword too long.

When you bookmark your site, you'll also be prompted with a description that you'll want to include which should have in it your keyword phrases as well. This description should also be a strong call to action. People will often read or scan this description and make their decision on whether they click through or not. These social bookmarking sites are still another click away from your website.

The URL is your web address of the page you're bookmarking. Do NOT use only the domain name. Make sure you are using the actual web address of the specific page you're trying to get bookmarked. If you don't do this, you'll get errors on several of the sites complaining that you've already or someone has already bookmarked that domain or that main page.

The tags are a vitally important part of the process because not only will your tag page get ranked for the "low hanging fruit" keywords, but it will also get ranked for the more competitive keyword phrases. Several of these bookmarking sites have a lot of authority in the eyes of the search engines which means that their tag pages have the ability to rank well, especially when you use the less competitive keywords as your tags.

These are some relatively easy ways to get traffic back to your website. One of the things about this is that it becomes difficult to stay organized. I personally don't try too hard to stay organized on this as I do have analytics installed on my website so I can track where most of my traffic comes from. You'll tend to see patterns that some sites will work better than others at generating traffic.

Increase Traffic With Article Marketing

By Rick W. Freeman

People using article marketing know it is the best free way to get exposure and traffic to their site.

The entire aim of the article is for people interested in it to follow the link, you have put at the foot of the page, to the website of your choice. Popular web sites are the best because it should give your article a good deal of exposure, within a comparatively short time you should start to experience more traffic at your site.

Fashionable sites tend to be acknowledged as authority sites, so if your article is used it can improve your credibility as well. By improving your standing, you will by default, also improve the level of trust people have for you.

This process of article marketing by submission to various sites, if carried out routinely, will ensure people read more of your work and actively look for it as your reputation grows. The purpose is to convince people of your abilities in the particular fields you write in.

If there are a lot of sites which link with your website then it steps up your sites ranking which in turn boosts up your traffic. This is of course completely free publicising and can be done over and over again.

Article marketing not only allows links in the body text of the article but in the resource box at the foot of the page. Your article must have good content if you want it placed in many websites because this in turn will link back to your own website which of course will increase the website ranking. Unfortunately you cannot normally expect your site to be listed straight away with the search engines.

To grow your sites ranking further, you want to be adding more content (preferably unique) to your site (or blog) all the time if you want your article marketing to work. The traffic you attract have no idea most of the time you are trying to sell them something. The more honest you are about what you are doing, the more people will appreciate it, providing the information you supply is relevant to what they are looking for.

Bear in mind that when people visit your site, they are unlikely to want your product without learning more about it. People searching for details about a product or service will not mind the sales side providing the information is interesting. It is at this point that the sales promotion can be used. This a little like taking them by the hand so they know what they are buying and most importantly, why. The last thing you want after making the sale is to return the money so by doing carrying out this process you lessen your chance of it happening.

If you want visitors to your websites then you must continue your article marketing this way, do not think for one minute that this is will be a success if it is only done the once! The aim is to have other website owners link their site to yours in addition to using your content as well, Don't forget, your article will contain information that people are searching for. You cannot dismiss just how effective article marketing is at getting people to your site for free, All you have to do is ensure your content is 'on topic' and unique to have constant visitors.

Secret Revealed: How the Google Search Engine Really Works

By Henry Zeng

While we don't often think about - or care - how Google works, it is very important for anyone who is using search engine optimization, or natural search engine positioning to market their Internet business, to understand the basic principles that drive Google.

There are three main parts to Google: Googlebot, The Indexer, and the Query Processor. Believe it or not, understanding how each of the parts works is crucial to your online businesses. Let's take a look at each of the elements to see how they work.

Googlebot is the search engine spider that visits your website and spiders your pages. It isn't an actual spider, of course.

It actually works more like a web browser by calling a server and requesting pages, and downloading them - just as you do when you open your browser, type in an URI, and then the web page loads.

Googlebot, anyway, is run by numerous computers and performs this task much faster than one user could on their home or work personal computer. Googlebot also doesn't know whether a website exists or not until a URL is put into their Add URL form, or they find a link points to that website on another web page.

When Googlebot visits a page, they take all the links from that page, put them in a queue for crawling, and just repeat this process over and over again. Once Googlebot has found a link, and downloaded the page, it hands that page off to the Indexer.

The Indexer stores the pages in Google's Index Data base. The Index then sorts all of the pages in its database, alphabetically, by looking at all of the keywords on the pages. The Indexer does not pay any attention to what Google calls for stop words, such as is, on, or, why, how, etc. It only pays attention to more important keyword type words.

The Indexer, after Indexing pages, waits for the Google Query Processor to ask it for a list of documents. A keyword is given to the Query Processor, which in turn asks the Indexer for a list of stored websites contain that keyphrase.

The Indexer then supplies the Query processor with a list of the documents, and the Query processor presents the documents to the user who requested the keyword.

As you can see, each element is important to the others. It all starts with the Googlebot finding your webpage link on another page, or by you going to Google and using the Add form to list your website.

What Is Article Marketing.-Some Answers

By Rob Metras

When people use the Internetas a reference, to make travel arrangements, to shop, for work, school, or playthey often find themselves reading articles on a wide variety of topics. The term \"article marketing\" may well be unfamiliar to them, but it has had an effect on what they read and see.

Article marketing is a method of promoting businesses on the internet. In article marketing, articles are posted on syndication websites. Others can then republish that article on websites or blogs that they control, bringing the article to a wider audience. Often, syndication websites allow the original writer to post his or her article for free.

On the other hand, those people who want to republish a particular syndicated article must agree with several conditions. One common condition is that credit must be given to the original writer, and any links from the original article must be kept in the republished version. This ensures that as more people read the article, the writer's reputation will grow.

Deciding the keyword is very crucial when starting to write an article. The keyword decides how much popular the article will be and how many times it will be read. Therefore keyword has to be decided with care as a writer would not want that his article does not come up in a search. If the keyword is too common then there will be quite a number of articles which will fulfill the search and your article may be way down in the list. Therefore lot of thought has to be given to the keyword in any article.

Articles are posted to directory sites, usually at no cost to the author. The directory owner usually places ads on article pages in order to earn income. The free posting encourages more people to share articles, which will make the directory a more popular destination. Running ads on the article pages helps both the authors and the site owners.

There are blogs that give writers tips on writing for article marketing. These blogs give guidelines on selecting good topics and on writing. In addition, authors can find guidelines on writing marketing articles on various web sites, as well as finding general information on how to write a good article.

Authors are sometimes given control over the advertising space on their article's pages. They can then choose which ads to run on the page, or even choose not to display any ads. They earn money from the ads on their pages, which encourages them to leave the ads on their pages.

To get more traffic, write articles that are short, in the 400-600 word range. People generally prefer articles that get directly to the point and provide an overview of the topic rather than an in-depth treatment. They will chose to read the shorter articles rather than longer ones.
